Today, the White House published to its website its proposal for healthcare reform in advance of a public bipartisan healthcare policy meeting on Thursday, February 25; at the website you can also view a page highlighting Republican ideas included in the proposal. While this initiative is focused on healthcare, it is notable that it attempts to exemplify some of the principles of open government: e.g., the proposal is readily available for review on the website; the policy meeting on Thursday will be public and streamed live at WhiteHouse.gov.
Over the last two months, Voices for Innovation conducted a brief survey of member views about healthcare reform policies and health IT. Interestingly, the VFI community was very evenly divided on healthcare reform, but strongly supportive of technology neutrality, privacy, and security for health IT solutions.
