Share Your Story

Your expertise and the work you and your company do every day means you’re uniquely equipped to advance informed technology policy on a federal, state and local level. Advocacy often means telling your story as a technologist, business owner, and/or Microsoft partner to a non-technical audience, such as policymakers and government officials. Putting a face to the message is one of the best ways to make an impact, and it only takes a few minutes of your time to share your story.

Please, use the video recording tool below to share why you’re why you’re involved with Voices for Innovation. You can use the tool on any computer or mobile device with a front-facing camera. Make sure to keep your answers short and concise, to speak slowly, and enunciate clearly. If using a mobile device, please record horizontally.

  • Think about and answer each of the following questions as you record your video:
    • What is your name? Where do you live? (Hi, my name is ________, and I live in _____)
    • Where do you work, or, what does your business do?
    • How would does policy directly affect you or your business? For example, what would it mean for you if more Americans could get online with high-speed broadband?
    • Why are you involved with VFI? (keep this answer short and direct)
    • Be sure to wrap up your video with the message of 'thank you for supporting technology.'
