About Guest Presenter Mark Hill 

Mark is a 23 year veteran at Microsoft. In his current role, Mark is responsible for building the Microsoft business around the Open Source ecosystem, and for driving improvements in the perception of Microsoft Openness across customers, partners, and government officials.

Mark joined Microsoft in 1992 as part of the original team that established Microsoft’s presence in Africa. Mark managed the Microsoft business in Africa, which included subsidiaries in South Africa and five other locations covering the Africa continent. In 2002 Mark moved to the U.S. as the General Manager of Business Strategy for Microsoft’s Worldwide Sales, Marketing and Services Group, and assisted in the implementation and management of the field operations strategy. During this time, Mark was part of a team that managed multiple acquisitions relating to security products, and was responsible for integrating the field sales and marketing components of the acquired companies into Microsoft. Mark has held many leadership roles in the Enterprise business at Microsoft, most recently as Vice President of Enterprise Partners.
