In today’s increasingly competitive global economy, Americans need expanded access to training and industry-recognized certification in a number of fields, including technology. To strengthen workforce development and skills training, a bipartisan group of Senators recently introduced the Effective Apprenticeships Rebuild National Skills—EARNS Act (S. 2945).
Voices for Innovation held a webinar focused on how the EARNS Act will update and expand our nation’s apprenticeship system, as well as support pre-apprenticeship programs. Guest speakers included Bill Kamela, Microsoft Senior Policy Director, Dianne Browning, Senior Staff to Senator Orrin Hatch (R-UT), and Scott Cheney, Senior Advisor to Senator Patty Murray (D-WA) on Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee.
